ABOUT THE BOOK

MONKOLOGY features thirteen tough tales about Los Angeles private investigator Ivan Monk, including an original novelette, The King Alfred Plan, written expressly for the collection. In these stories you’ll encounter starry-eyed sinners, street corner revolutionaries, Hollywood hustlers, over-heated politicians, rightwing assholes, a ghost or two, cavorting cops, architects with major issues, flying saucers, and a little old lady with a popgun, all out to make their mark in the city of dreams and despair.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

GARY PHILLIPS is the author of The Underbelly, The Jook, Freedom’s Fight, Bangers, The Perpetrators, Violent Spring, Perdition U.S.A., Bad Night Is Falling, Only The Wicked, High Hand, Shooter’s Point and Citizen Kang. He is also editor of the notable anthologies Orange County Noir, The Cocaine Chronicles, Politics Noir, and The Darker Mask: Heroes From The Shadows. His most recent story, “Soldanus, the Sultan of Crime,” is featured in the soon-to-be-released Green Hornet Casefiles from Moonstone. He lives in Los Angeles.
